My History

The 1960s

5 Symonds Avenue, North Parramatta

I was born at Parramatta Hospital.

I grew up at 5 Symonds Avenue in North Parramatta
for the first three years of my life.

I then later moved to 45 Romney Crescent Miller
in Sydney’s south west.

I have three sisters.

I received my infants & primary education
at Miller Public School.

The 1970s

I received my secondary education at Miller High School.

I then started an apprenticeship as a Plant Mechanic
with White Industries Limited at 80 Long Street in Smithfield
& attended Sydney Technical College in Ultimo.

I quickly saved up some money & bought my first guitar.

The 1980s

Ulan Coal Civil Project

I was relocated to the Ulan Coal Civil Project
at the completion of my apprenticeship
where I was to spend the next few years working.

I met my wife in the '80s
& with her encouragement & support
I decided to pursue a career in music.

I performed countless gigs throughout the ‘80s & ‘90s.

I have played guitar in a wide variety of styles
that include pop, rock, acoustic, blues & jazz.

I started teaching full time in the early ‘90s.

I founded The School Of Contemporary Guitar in 1995
& held clinics, workshops & concerts with a long list of music greats.

The 2000s

Teaching in my studio at Casula

I founded Oz Guitar in the year 2000
& since then have taught 1,000s of students
to learn how to play the guitar.

I plan on continuing to teach well in to the future
for as long as I can.

I have five children that include
four girls & one boy.

I also have a few pets that include
a Galah & a Beagle.
